The pearl from the shelf:

“And what is it to work with love?
…It is to sow seeds with tenderness and reap the harvest with joy, even as if your beloved were to eat the fruit.
…And if you cannot work with love but only with distaste, it is better that you should leave your work and sit at the gate of the temple and take alms of those who work with joy”

Consideration

Observe how Khalil Gibran explains beautifully and clearly the way human beings should work. In order to work with love, you don’t have to be  an artist or a renowned leader. You only require the will of loving what you do. Any humble activity, such as washing the dishes may be done with love, may become a source of awareness and contemplation, just if you decide to do it with love, with intention, experiencing the present moment. Once you realize that you decide to do it because you love the benefitiary of this task or because this activity makes you a better human being, you will be able to perform that activity with love, transforming the task into an enlightening experience.
